Writing short poems is a good experience for sharpening the pen and eye. The following short poems, all untitled, have received the most attention on Twitter, lately:

Falling snow, feathery Touch light and cold, looking up: daytime Milky Way
Gashes in the earth Disturbed ground, unrooted roots; Blowing dirt next week
Ten hawks stand sentinel Beak and eyes in trees, watching Shift of words and talons
Iced night Black moon hidden behind curtains Seeking privacy; The darkness sings Of beating the day While it has a voice
Empty winds touch vagrant papers Distant dogs gossip, A lazy walk within a listless day Under sliding steel clouds
Plus a few poems from the early years: The dark outside falls ~ Shadows run to doors in rain ~ Face against the window Book paper rasp ~ Typeface that doesn't disappear ~ The weight of words Cold easterly wind ~ bare ground and barren trees sit ~ waiting as the dead for snow (C) Stephen Ullom, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016
